If you have never questioned your government, you might want to think about it now as all but 1 US president are connected to the same bloodline.

April 28, 2013

Using both male and female ancestry a 12 year old girl has linked every US president but one to the former King of England as they are all of the same bloodline and one common ancestor.

It’s the first family tree of it’s kind according to the report, linking the presidents to the signer of the Magna Carta, John “Lackland” Plantagenet the King of England in the year 1166. This demonstrates how illegitimate our government really is.

A genealogist at the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston by the name of Gary Boyd Roberts is one of the top experts on the royal ancestry of American presidents. His research links every American president’s lineage to different bloodlines of royalty throughout Europe. His findings are also backed up by Burkes Peerage which is the world encyclopedia of royal genealogy. In fact, according to both of these sources, in every election the candidate with the most royal genes has won. The jury on President Barack Obama’s lineage is still out because all records of his early life are shrouded in secrecy. Due to the many forged documents and name changes that we have seen from Obama, it is difficult to determine if he has royal blood.

Throughout the rest of the world the story is the same, people that are born into a place of privilege because of the wealth of their ancestors are the new aristocrats who dominate politics and international business. Over the centuries those in power have learned that they can’t quickly and forcefully push their way into dominating a large group of people, they need to trick the population into begging for their own enslavement. Countless hours are spent by rulers around the world to find new ways of conning their citizens into giving up their rights and handing their lives over to the state.

For decades, many scientists and the media have been waging a war against fat.

The idea that fat caused harm was never based on any facts and has now been proven to be completely false.

But yet this bias against perfectly healthy foods lingers on… foods that have been demonized for the sole reason that they are naturally high in saturated fats.

Here are 4 foods that were considered “dangerous” due to their fat content, but are actually extremely healthy.

1. Meat

Many people today believe meat to be unhealthy… but this is absolute nonsense.

Humans evolved as omnivores, eating both meat and plants. Ancient humans started hunting as early as 2 million years ago.

When you look past all the vegan and anti-fat propaganda, what you’re left with is a real food with a range of nutrients that are very important for human health.

The only problem is that meat is not what it used to be.

Back in the day, animals roamed free in nature and ate a natural diet. Chickens ate bugs and seeds, while cows ate grass.

These days, animals are often fed commercial grain-based feeds, pumped full of hormones and antibiotics to make them grow faster and locked inside all their lives.

Meat from animals that are naturally raised is much healthier.

If we take cows as an example, meat from cows that are grass-fed has (1, 2, 3):

More Omega-3 fatty acids and less Omega-6.

More Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) – which can reduce body fat mass in humans.

More Vitamins, including Vitamins A and E.

Meat is also a great source of protein and healthy fats. Plus there are tons of other nutrients in animal foods that you can’t really get from plants… Vitamins K2, D3, B12, Creatine, Carnosine and many, many more.

In a massive 2010 study of 1,212,380 individuals, consumption of unprocessed red meat had absolutely no association with heart disease or diabetes (4).

Bottom Line: Despite the fear mongering, meat is a perfectly healthy food. Just make sure to choose the good stuff… meat from grass-fed/pastured animals is best.

2. Butter

Butter has been demonized in the past and blamed for everything from heart disease to obesity.

But the truth is that butter is perfectly healthy, as long as you choose the right type.

Make sure that your butter is derived from grass-fed cows, because this can have a major impact on the nutrient composition.

One important nutrient mainly found in grass-fed dairy products is Vitamin K2, which is very important for both bone and heart health (5,6, 7).

Another nutrient in butter is the short-chain fatty acid byturate. In rats, butyrate boosts metabolism and reduces food intake. In humans, some studies show anti-inflammatory activity and a protective effect on the digestive system (8, 9, 10).

Butter is also rich in Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) – a fatty acid shown in some studies to reduce body fat and increase lean mass (11).

Despite all the propaganda, high-fat dairy products have never been proven to cause any sort of harm.

A recent review of 16 studies shows that butter consumption is not associated with any metabolic disease and actually correlates with alower risk of obesity (12).

Bottom Line: Butter is very healthy if it comes from grass-fed cows. It is a real, traditional food with unique nutrients that are very important for health.

3. Eggs

Eggs are among the most nutritious foods on the planet.

Just think about it… an egg contains all the nutrients required to turn a single cell into an entire baby chicken.

The reason eggs have been demonized in the past is because they contain lots of cholesterol.

However, new studies show that cholesterol in the diet doesn’t really raise the bad cholesterol in the blood.

If anything, eggs improve the blood lipid profile… they raise HDL and turn the LDL particles into a benign subtype (13, 14, 15).

In a massive meta-analysis of 17 studies, they found no association between egg consumption and either heart disease or stroke (16).

Please keep in mind that throwing the yolks away is a major waste.Pretty much all the nutrients reside in the yolk.

One large egg contains (17):

Only 77 calories, with 5 grams of fat and 6 grams of quality protein.

Lots of vitamins: A, B12, B2 and B5, among others.

Tons of minerals: Phosphorus, iron, selenium, to name a few.

Eggs also contain plenty of Choline – a nutrient that 90% of Americans aren’t getting enough of and is very important for brain function.

Eggs are also loaded with the antioxidants Lutein and Zeaxanthine, which are very important for eye health. One study shows that eating 1.3 egg yolks per day increases blood levels of Lutein by 28-50% and Zeaxanthine by 114-142% (18).

Eggs for breakfast may also help you lose weight. Two studies have shown that people who eat eggs for breakfast lose more weight than people who eat bagels, despite eating the same amount of calories (19,20).

Eggs are among the healthiest foods on the planet, just make sure to choose pastured or omega-3 enriched eggs. I eat 3-4 whole eggs myself, every single day.

Bottom Line: There is no reason to be afraid of eating eggs. They are incredibly nutritious and studies show that they can improve health in many ways.

4. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a rather unique type of fat.

It is about 90% saturated, primarily with fatty acids of a medium length… so-called Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs).

These types of fats are metabolized differently than longer chain fats. They go straight to the liver, where they are either used for energy or turned into ketone bodies.

MCTs can therefore be considered more “immediate” sources of energy.

About half of the fatty acids in coconut oil is the 12-carbon Lauric Acid, which is an efficient killer of pathogens like bacteria, viruses and fungi (21, 22, 23).

Coconut oil may also be good for your heart.

In a study of overweight women, coconut oil increased HDL and lowered the LDL:HDL ratio compared to Soybean oil (24).

In rats, virgin coconut oil reduced Total cholesterol, LDL, oxidized LDL and increased HDL (the good) cholesterol (25).

The MCTs in coconut oil may also help you lose weight. These fats are metabolized differently, leading to a net increase in energy expenditure. Replacing longer chain fats with MCTs can improve satiety and reduce food intake (26, 27, 28).

Because of its high saturated fat content, coconut oil is very resistant to high heat and is therefore a perfect oil for cooking.

Make sure to avoid processed or refined varieties and choose virgin coconut oil.

Take Home Message

There is absolutely no reason to fear these foods, as long as you choosequality sources.

The Home Secretary’s premature decision is enough to show she has prejudged the issue and her bias would make any subsequent decision open to challenge, says Geoffrey Robertson

Theresa May’s secret (until it was leaked) threat to punish airlines if they dared to fly Mr Snowden to London and her promise that he “is highly likely to be refused entry to the UK” if they do, shows the length to which the Home Office will now go to avoid the rule of law.

Governments find it easier to bully commercial operators (the US pressured MasterCard and PayPal to drop WikiLeaks) to avoid embarrassment rather than apply the principles (in this case, freedom of speech) which they purport to believe.

Snowden would have a better chance of resisting extradition were he to enter the UK, where judges are fiercely independent and the European Court acts as a human rights longstop. In Hong Kong, judges are not noted for anti-government rulings and the Final Court of Appeal’s decisions are reversible by the Chinese government, which might cut a deal with the US.

Were Snowden to reach Europe, however, he could resist extradition on charges under the US Espionage Act on the ground that this would be a breach of his Article 10 right to communicate information of importance to the European public (eg that their privacy was infringed by the NSA without the checks in place for American citizens) and contrary to Article 8 of the Convention.

If Snowden’s claims about the illegality of NSA surveillance turn out to be wrong or exaggerated, he could still resist extradition if there was any prospect the charges could carry the death penalty or of him receiving the brutal treatment inflicted on Bradley Manning. This, and the likelihood of a larger-than-life sentence, could amount to disproportionate and inhumane treatment.

The Home Secretary’s power to deny entry to those whose presence would be “detrimental to the public good” has been used in recent years only against those who incite terrorism, race hate or homophobia. Whistleblowers might be thought to be in a different category: how can their presence “be detrimental to the public good” unless that means (which it doesn’t) causing embarrassment to America? Mrs May’s premature decision is enough to show she has prejudged the issue and her bias would make any subsequent decision open to challenge. What the Government obviously fears is another Abu Qatada. But Snowden is not an advocate of terrorism and even his worst detractors do not accuse him of putting lives at risk.

Mrs May made her decision on Monday – shortly after Snowden broke cover. There is usually no time taken for deliberation when politicians are asked to approve an MI6 (ie CIA) request. This exemplifies the flaw in so called “regulation” of surveillance in Britain. Unlike other European countries and the US, warrants are granted by government ministers, not by judges. Until this change is made, civil liberties will be in the hands of politicians advised by unaccountable bureaucrats.

Geoffrey Robertson QC is co-head of Doughty Street Chambers and author of ‘Crimes Against Humanity: The Struggle for Global Justice’. His latest book is ‘Mullahs without Mercy: Human Rights and Nuclear Weapons’

Studies have shown that Prozac, even in trace amounts, comparable to the current amount of Prozac leaked into fish ecosystems, causes fish to literally commit suicide, or even attack other fish viciously. This same reaction is encountered in humans on a regular basis, and is commonplace among mass murders.

A research group at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has found that exposure to Prozac in fish, even in ratios as trace as 1 dose of Prozac to 5000 gallons of water, causes the fish to become homicidal.

The group tested traces of Prozac on fathead minnows, and found that the so called anti depressant, playing a role in almost every school shooting in recent history, did absolutely nothing to tranquilize or balance the fish as it is supposed to do in humans, but instead led the fish to disturbing, seemingly compulsive violent behavior. Behavior that is so far outside the ordinary behavior of these fish, that people are starting to question whether this drug is anything more than a mass murder pill for some people, and fish, if not more life forms.

What makes this knowledge even more critical to understand, is that Prozac is excreted in human urine, into our water supply and into fish habitats such as lakes and rivers, and very well could cause fish to behave this way all over the place.

Since this highly unusual and disturbing, systematically self destructive behavior of the effect of Prozac on fish has been discovered, some people are finally waking up to the dead serious implications of allowing big pharma to do what they do. That is, allowing the pharmaceutical industry to lead to what America faces now, which is one in every ten people in America on this bizarre drug.

How could America possibly continue on, or any country, with this many people becoming literally walking water supply polluters? This chemical hardly breaks down at all and just builds up and up, so how could it not find its way into nearly all water, as it is excreted by one in ten Americans, in significant amounts, every day? It seems Prozac may eventually be present in drinking water everywhere, in such high doses that people are forced to be on Prozac just to cure basic human thirst, if this pattern continues.

It is time for America, and everyone in the world who takes this chemical, to wake up to the real implications of trusting the pharmaceutical industry with these synthesized chemicals. The environmental implications, individually psychological implications, and all other possible outcomes.

We as a species have found ourselves in a complex new world that is changing faster and faster, exponentially we change, and take on newer ways that could fundamentally change our planet and way of life.

Some people often go without considering the end result of things in general nearly enough, and just trust people who don’t know what they are talking about, or don’t care to tell the truth.

On a more general and philosophical note, we as a species must fine tune and sharpen our level of awareness and consciousness for what we are doing to ourselves, all life on earth, and our planet itself, and allow that consciousness be balanced with the exponential rate that we are accelerating. Because if we do not balance our level of awareness with what we are doing, with the things we are doing, we will find ourselves in a mess of consequences that may not be reversible.

Not to mention, there are some very powerful figures on earth who would love to steer humanity in a direction where we can be more easily manipulated, more docile, less able to manage ourselves and our planet.

With that being said, it is a persons responsibility to ensure that his or her fellow human beings understand what is going in around them, because if everyone stays unconscious and unaware of potential catastrophic consequences to the new things we do and ingest, we will all be doomed.

So if you think this article or a similar one has information that would increase the level of consciousness of a person, who you know isn’t very conscious, spread the info. Share reality with everyone you can, and that is a way we can preserve our humanity and balance.

Huthart, shown in 1995, appeared on ITV’s Gladiators before launching her stunt career

A former Hollywood stunt double has sued News Corp and its subsidiary News International, accusing the companies of ordering the hacking of her phone.

The suit, the first such claim from the US, was filed by Eunice Huthart, a British former double for Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.

In the suit, the Liverpool resident alleges messages from family, friends and Ms Jolie were intercepted and in some cases deleted.

News Corp declined to comment.

In a civil complaint filed on 13 June, Ms Huthart seeks damages for violations of federal and California laws and “intrusion into private affairs”.

‘Close friend’

According to IMDB, Ms Huthart worked as Ms Jolie’s stunt double on the films Wanted, Mr and Mrs Smith, and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

In the court filing, she describes herself as a close friend of Ms Jolie, and says the pair “often travelled and socialized together”.

Ms Huthart said that in 2004-05, some friends and relatives complained she had not returned their phone calls, and she in turn complained to her mobile phone provider that voice messages were being lost in their system.

She said Ms Jolie left messages concerning travel arrangements and other plans, which Ms Huthart never received.

Ms Huthart claims News Corp hacked into her phone seeking information about Angelina Jolie

She added that her daughter left messages complaining about bullying in school in Liverpool, which she also never received – rendering her unable to console her daughter. Ms Huthart said her husband had also criticised her for not responding to his messages.

Ms Huthart says her name, telephone number and other private information appeared in the notes of Glenn Mulcaire, the private investigator who worked for the News of the World and was jailed in January 2007 for unlawfully intercepting voicemail messages received by royal aides.

Ms Huthart “believes that they were hacking her cellular telephone as a means to obtain information about Ms Jolie”, says the court filing.

Phone hacking arrests

According to the suit, The Sun newspaper published several news stories based on information illicitly obtained from Ms Huthart’s mobile phone messages.

Revelations about phone hacking in the UK led News Corp boss Rupert Murdoch to close the News of the World newspaper in July 2011.

The investigation into phone hacking claims and payments to public officials for information has led to scores of arrests of journalists, police officers and other public officials.

Among those charged were Rebekah Brooks, a former News International executive, and Andy Coulson, former News of the World editor and ex-communications chief for UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

UK police have identified more than 4,000 possible victims of phone hacking included politicians, celebrities, actors, athletes, relatives of dead UK soldiers, and victims of the 7/7 London bombings.

The suit comes days before News Corp is to be split into two companies, one for its entertainment assets and the other for its publishing business. Mr Murdoch is to be chairman of both firms.

The monks from Thailand are now under investigation following numerous complaints from Buddhists around the world after the two minute and 47 second long clip was posted on Youtube.

Jet-setting monks: Buddhists around the world have complained after video footage showing two Thai monks wearing aviator-style glasses on a private jet

Expensive: The monks also appeared to have designer bags on board the plane and be using high-tech gadgets

The Office of National Buddhism director-general Nopparat Benjawatananun said that the agency saw the video and had warned the monks from a monastery in Thailand’s north-east not to repeat the lavish behaviour. It plans to monitor monks nationwide.

With the world’s largest Buddhist population, Thailand has attempted to help Buddha’s 2,600-year-old doctrine stand the test of time through a variety of means, including imposing a ban on the sale of alcohol on religious holidays.

The efforts, however, are sometimes tainted by the monks themselves.

Last year, about 300 out of 61,416 Buddhist monks and novices in Thailand were reprimanded – in several cases removed from the monkhood – because of their misconduct, ranging from alcohol consumption, having sex with women, to extortion.

The office also received complaints about monks driving cars, and scams and false claims of black magic uses by monks.

Spotlight: The Office of National Buddhism is now investigating the incident after complaints about the video, pictured, from around the world

Mr Nopparat said the Buddhist monks in the video were acting ‘inappropriately, not composed and not adhering to Buddha’s teachings of simplicity and self-restraint’.

Monruedee Bantoengsuk, an administrative officer at Khantitham Temple in Sisaket province, confirmed that the monks on the private plane lived at the temple but refused to give details about the trip.

‘We can explain this, but not now,’ she said, saying that the abbot, who appeared in the video, is currently on a religious tour in France.

The images from the video contrasted with the abbot’s message on the temple’s homepage that read: ‘The true core of those who preach Buddha’s teachings is to not to own any objects at all.

Warning: The monks, from the Khantitham Temple in Sisaket province in Thailand, have been warned not to repeat their lavish behaviour displayed in the video

‘When Lord Buddha was alive, there wasn’t anything like this. There were no cars, smart phones or cameras, so the rules were much simpler,’ said Mr Nopparat.

‘While the monks need to keep themselves abreast of new knowledge, current events and technology, they are restrained to choose the appropriate tools.’

He said one way to prevent the monks from misbehaving is for followers not to spoil them with valuable objects or vices.

‘In many cases, it was the followers who gave the monks the luxury. Some bought them sports cars. This is by no means necessary.’

Former Manchester United chief executive David Gill has been handed power by UEFA to recommend bans on clubs such as rivals Manchester City and Chelsea, who may find themselves in breach of new European Financial Fair Play rules.

Having stepped down from his post at Old Trafford at the end of last season to become a UEFA executive member, Gill has now been appointed chairman of the governing body’s extremely influential Club Licensing Committee.

The committee essentially decides which clubs are entitled to licences to play Champions League and Europa League football. This will become increasingly important as UEFA’s FFP rules shape the landscape of European football in the coming years.

Influential: Chelsea and Manchester City could potentially suffer at the hands of David Gill

Gill is a known advocate of FFP and one of four Barclays Premier League chiefs who proposed similar rules be implemented in English domestic football back in January.

He said 18 months ago that the new European system would only work if ‘appropriate sanctions’ were imposed on those who missed the targets. Sanctions already discussed by UEFA president Michel Platini have included fines and, for severe offences, competition bans.

Gill’s appointment will certainly raise eyebrows at clubs such as City and Chelsea who are currently striving to ensure their losses are no greater than the 845million (£38m) limit allowed by FFP across last and next season.

Long allegiance: Gill spent 10 years alongside Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United

Money men: Sheikh Mansour and Roman Abramovich have funded much of Manchester City’s and Chelsea’s success

Both clubs have been used to viewing Gill as a rival in recent years and it will not have escaped their attention that the 55-year-old is to remain a United director and board member, despite handing over the chief executive baton to Ed Woodward.

On Monday night, a UEFA spokeswoman confirmed that Gill’s committee will have an influence over whether clubs’ finances entitle them to play in major European competition.

This is despite that fact that the Club Financial Control Body will go through individual clubs’ finances initially to see if they meet the targets set by FFP. Gill will play no role in this part of the process.

Visually impaired Delhi student Kartik Sawhney has repeatedly been denied permission to appear for the IIT-JEE in the past three years because of his disability. However, in March 2013, he was awarded a fully funded scholarship to pursue engineering at Stanford University in the US. This is his story.

On May 27, 2013, when 18-year-old Kartik Sawhney scored 96 per cent in his Class 12 CBSE examination, he became the country’s first ever visually impaired student to have achieved the feat in the science stream.

Appearing from Delhi Public School, RK Puram, he scored 99 in computer science (his favourite subject) and 95 each in English, mathematics, physics and chemistry; his total is 479 out of 500.

Recalling some of the challenges, he says, “Studying with normal students wasn’t easy, and neither was choosing a stream of my choice.”

Determination and perseverance are the key factors to his success — he simply would not take no for an answer.

“A lot of people think that disabilities limits you from doing certain things. But I think success comes to those who believe in their strengths,” he states.

Sawhney, who comes from a middle class family — his father Ravinder Sawhney is a businessman and mother Indu Sawhney a homemaker — confesses that aiming high and making tough decisions at every stage was still easier than executing them.

For three years in a row, he has been denied permission to appear for the IIT-JEE; he was told that there is no provision for blind students to take the competitive exam. But he did not lose hope and applied to universities abroad.

And in March 2013, Sawhney received a fully funded scholarship to pursue a five-year engineering programme at Stanford University. Once armed with this degree, he intends to “improve the condition of visually impaired back in India”.

In this interview, the inspiring young man discusses the many challenges he’s faced to come this far, what miffs him about the Indian administration and tells us what keeps him going.

wise man once told me that there were only two outcomes for dating relationships: getting married or breaking up. “The secret,” he said, “is knowing how to handle a dating relationship so you know if the other person is worth marrying or he or she is honored in the breakup.”

Unfortunately, it seems like many young singles struggle to figure out just how to handle dating–and I’m not the only one who’s noticed how weird the Christian dating scene can be. As my friend Lindsey, married and in her thirties, recently remarked, “I’m sure glad I wasn’t much of a Christian when I started dating my husband!”

WHAT IF CHRISTIANS JUST BEGAN TO DATE LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE—NOT DATING TOWARD IMMEDIATE MARRIAGE AND NOT “HANGING OUT” IN NO MAN’S LAND?

Whether over coffee in my kitchen or on the hallowed ground of women’s small groups, I hear these murmurs constantly. “My daughter was interested in this nice Christian boy, but he strung her along for a year and a half. The next one did too.” Or, “Jeremy acted like they were friends but she told me later that they were hooking up on the side.” With that kind of dismal dating culture at play, let’s consider the options:

First, there’s “Duggar Dating.” Duggar dating is the modern-day form of arranged marriages. I don’t have first-hand knowledge, but thanks to reality TV, I believe it appears to involve asking the woman’s dad if she is available to date, and possibly not kissing until the actual wedding.

Outside the Duggar-verse, there is the less overt but just as prevalent “ideal spouse” dating. This involves judging a potential guy or girl for the 38 qualities you are looking for in an ideal mate—before even grabbing coffee together. It’s like arranged marriages where no one is making the arrangements, and it doesn’t seem to work very well.

At the opposite extreme, there is “Faux Christian Dating”—in which young Christians have no idea what to do with dating, so they avoid it. Instead of dating, lots of “hanging out” occurs. “Hanging out” leads to all kinds of mixed feelings. Does he like me? Is she flirting? What does this text mean? Why did he sit next to me at church? Did she want my sweatshirt because she was cold, or because she likes me?

Sometimes the “hanging out” leads to hooking up, sans dating, which is another uber-confusing side effect of the Faux Christian Dating cycle.

But what if there was another option? What if Christians just began to date like normal people—not dating toward immediate marriage and not eschewing dating for the less-desirable “hanging out” no man’s land? Here’s what I think it would require:

1) Date Indiscriminately

Stop evaluating whether the guy who’s taken an interest in you is strong and tenderhearted enough to raise your future kids. Stop evaluating whether the new girl at church is hot enough and “low-maintenance” enough for your liking.

THE GREAT THING ABOUT CHANGING EXPECTATIONS IS THAT IT LOWERS THE PRESSURE ON GRABBING DINNER TOGETHER AND FIGURING OUT IF THE TWO OF YOU EVEN LIKE TALKING TO ONE ANOTHER!

If you take notice, if you are intrigued or interested, make a date! Get together—one on one. We are talking about one afternoon or evening together, not a lifetime. And unless someone’s making arrangements for you, it’s worth spending at least a little bit of time with the person before you decide if they are worth marrying.

2) Date Casually

Not every date needs to be a total success. But it’s foolish to think that the way a girl or guy acts in a group of friends is the same as how they’ll act one on one. Dating helps two people sort out what it would be like to be together, to be in a friendship. Most of marriage involves time together, one on one, in a friendship. And spending intentional one-on-one time—not too serious, just time—allows both parties to experience what it would be like to continue in the relationship.

I can’t say it clearly enough: Hanging out in groups will not be enough information to determine who is worth marrying. Everyone is different when you get them one-on-one.

3) Date Often

When we were still in college, my husband had 38 first job interviews before he landed a second one. He was horrible at interviews, but by the 38th one, he had learned how to engage with good questions, talk about himself an appropriate amount and gauge interest from himself and the interviewer. He didn’t get necessarily smarter–he got more experienced. Dating can be like that too. Sometimes we all need a little practice with figuring out what we really want–not in terms of our “ideal spouse” but a real flesh-and-blood human.

4) Date Toward Interest, Not Toward Marriage

“Do you think Christian girls make dating too serious?” I asked several guys recently. “I need a buffer of at least five dates before I’m thinking of any future at all!” said one young man.

What if you completely jettison the idea of finding your husband or wife via dating, at least for the first five dates? What if dating is about getting to know someone and gauging interest, not lifelong compatibility?

The great thing about changing expectations is that it lowers the pressure on grabbing dinner together and figuring out if the two of you even like talking to one another!

Of course, one of the biggest obstacles toward casual dating is the inevitable “ending.” So many of us equate kindness with never saying anything hard to anyone. In truth, kindness is not about passivity. Kindness is honoring someone in your treatment of them, but kindness is also honoring them by ending a dating relationship if needed.

If you’ve maintained boundaries and treated your date with respect, you’ve protected him or her from false and premature intimacy. Will it be awkward? Sure, it will! But the purpose of dating isn’t to just accumulate boyfriends or girlfriends—it’s to find a best friend and partner for life. And when you find him or her, chances are, none of those other guys or gals you’ve casually dated will matter much in the light of your spouse.

The reality is that you can’t have it all. You can’t have the attention of multiple dates and still be pursuing a God-honoring relationship with one. You can’t maintain 10 flirty friendships and expect to make space in your heart for one awesome husband or wife. But you can start somewhere—slowly, and casually—and trust God to lead you into more.
