June 17, 2016 – During a contingency meeting, the Labour MP, Jo Cox has been shot and stabbed to death by a 52 year old man. Authorities have responded to this report which happened near a library in Birstall, West Yorkshire. After further investigation it has been found out that the 52 year old killer was Tommy Mair.
Police shared that Cox – the MP of Batley and Spen – suffered serious injuries before dying at 1:48 in the afternoon after the paramedics had made all possible resuscitating processes that could save the victim.
According to reports, the suspect shouted “Britain First!” before attacking Cox. This is a reference to political party which the police sees as a motive of the crime committed. Shortly after stabbing Cox which caused her immediate death, the suspect was then arrested by police officers who recovered the firearm that was also used for the assault.
Given that there were a number of officers around and many witnesses who saw the incident, the police believed that they will be able to find out immediately the ultimate motive of the crime. Some believed that this attack was caused by the recent argument engaged by Cox and two other men during her weekly surgery.
