May 26, 2016 – Japan’s Kyodo News Agency has reported that this Friday, May 27, 2016, more than three atomic bomb survivors are to attend an event in Hiroshima where the incumbent U.S. president will visit the area where the first atomic bombing happened – Hiroshima Prefectural Promotional Hall or Atomic Bomb Dome (A-Bomb Dome). Aside from them, a small delegation of Koreans will also be there to pay tribute to their countrymen who also endured a fair share of pain and misery during the combat but were not duly recognized and remembered.

The purpose of this visit is not to apologize on the tragedy or to argue whether justice had prevailed on the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki successively; instead, the main agenda of this visit is to honor those who fell victims and lost their lives in WWII.

Reports said that the U.S. president will be accompanied by Prime Minister of Japan –  Shinzo Abe.
