May 17, 2016 – The people of Oregon had consolidated and came up with a single vote on disallowing the bottling of commercial water by Nestle. The Californians have struggled long enough to fight the battle against drought resulting to their grievances against Nestle Waters chief executive who said that they won’t absolutely stop, instead they’d increase the amount of ground water source usage. Believing that this project would yield a resounding number of benefits towards the economy and unemployment, Dave Palais said that they’re totally disappointed with the results.
Most of those who were on the opposite side of the Swiss transnational company were orchard owners, Native American tribes and some residents. They believe that the water bottlers would compete their growing needs that might result to the continuous shrinking of water supply. Moreover, native tribes emphasized on the effects of global warming not only to the supply of water to the people and orchards, but as well as to fishes and wildlife that relies on the springs and creeks.
