Pest controllers in Liverpool claim rats are growing as big as cats and have called on the Health and Safety Executive to allow them to use more deadly poison
Rats are becoming so large and immune to poison that pest controllers say they may have to apply to the Health and Safety Exectuive for permission to use stronger toxins.
Rat-catchers in Liverpool claim they have seen rodents which are the size of small cats and say they are becoming resistant to traditional poisons.
Pest controllers have reported a 15 per cent rise in call-outs for rodents in the past year.
Sean Whelan, of Whelan Pest Prevention, told the Liverpool Echo: “All around Merseyside there’s been a problem.
“We’re seeing bigger rats in Liverpool. They’re super rats in my opinion.
