Devout Christian and reality star Michelle Duggar has revealed her top tips to a long lasting marriage, with sex being the number one priority.

The 47-year-old from Tontitown, Arkansas, who has 19 children with her husband of 29 years, Jim Bob, told Today.com that it’s most important to ‘say yes . . . even when you’re tired.’

Following on from advice she received on her wedding day, she continued: ‘In your marriage there will be times you’re going to be very exhausted . . Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has.

‘You always need to be available when he calls.’

But Mrs Duggar – the matriarch of TLC’s hit show 19 Kids and Counting, does give it a rest sometimes – specifically after child birth and when she has her period. This, she says, helps give her libido a boost.

‘When you’ve missed it for seven days, you look forward to it even more.’

Unlike his wife’s, 48-year-old Mr Duggar’s ‘relationship dos’ focus on the emotional side of things.

‘Treat your wife like a queen . . .That’s key,’ he said.

Even amidst the whirlwind of raising 19 kids and working a full-time job in real estate, he sends ‘I love you’ texts to Mrs Duggar and refers to her as ‘sweetie.’

And instead of getting bogged down in the humdrum of married life, Mr Duggar likes to liven things up with ‘date nights.’

The famous couple revealed last year that they are trying for another baby.

Mrs Duggar told Celebrity Baby Scoop: ‘We shall see if that is a possibility. If not, we are so thankful and grateful for the ones that God has given us so far.’

She and her husband had their first child, Josh, in 1988 and have celebrated a birth almost every year since. They have nine daughters and ten boys ranging from three to 25 years old.

They are also grandparents to their eldest son’s three children.

The last time the Duggars were expecting, Michelle tragically miscarried their daughter, Jubilee Shalom, in December 2011. But now it appears they are determined to expand their brood before both turning 50.

‘I would be so grateful if the Lord blessed us with another one,’ Mrs Duggar said, adding that she
always rejoices when she experiences morning sickness because she knows ‘things are okay.’

She says that although being a parent ‘is a lot of responsibility’, there is ‘so much joy’ having a ‘little one [become] a part of your family and a part of life.’

While many worry about the health effects of multiple pregnancies, the full-time mother says she feels ‘great’.

‘I think that exercising and eating right definitely makes a difference. My health is good and I am grateful for that.

‘I think it could be different; every person struggles with different things, but I am . . . able to enjoy running and chasing my little ones around at this point in my life.
