At least three people have been killed after Egyptian troops opened fire on supporters of the ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi during a march in Cairo.

BBC correspondent Jeremy Bowen said the military had told demonstrators to stay back from the officers’ club at the Presidential Guard building.

When the crowd surged forward, “someone opened fire straight away from the military side, before they used any kind of tear gas… I saw the body”.
