Police are appealing for information about a teenage student from India who vanished while shopping on holiday in Oxford Street.

Emaan Shah, 17, was window shopping with her mother on the last day of the family’s two week holiday in Britain on Monday 10 June.

The pair became separated at around 2pm and she disappeared.

After searching Oxford Street the family returned to the nearby Marriott Hotel where they had been staying but there was no sign of her.

Her father Tanvir Shah, who runs an advertising company in India, said: “We are frantic with worry.

“There is no reason why she should go missing. She was happy and had just done well in her exams and was looking forward to choosing a university.”

Police say the girl’s disappearance is out of character and officers are keen to trace her as soon as possible.

There have been no sightings of her since her disappearance.

Police are trawling through CCTV of the area and visiting shops in Oxford Street.

Emaan is described as 5ft 3ins tall, of slim build with brown wavy hair. When last seen she was wearing a black jacket with a Manchester United logo on the chest, grey trousers and black and white trainers.

She was carrying some cash with her but did not have a phone.
